Kit hails from London, England, where he began coaching in 2000. He served as Head Coach at Hatfield College, part of Durham University (UK). In 2009 Kit founded the Skyline High School Crew Team, a program which in its first four years has already established itself among the region’s best, producing Canadian Nationals and Midwest Regionals medal-winning crews as well as National Scholastic champions.
Kit has been part of the coaching staff for the US Rowing Junior National Team sculling section for two years. He coached athletes at the Junior World Championships in Trakai Lithuania in 2013, and in 2012 he lead the US squad to multiple golds at the 2012 CanAmMex Regatta in Mexico City. He currently runs speed orders to ID Midwest talent and assist with the high performance camp in California.
Kit has a wealth of experience creating training plans and working one-on-one with athletes. His high school mentor was the then Great Britain National Team physiology coach, and current mentors include Jr. National Team Sculling Coach Guenter Beutter and University of Michigan Men’s Head Coach Gregg Hartsuff.
